Google Adwords Account Cancelled.
Posted on July 29, 2007
Damn you, Google.
Guess I can’t really blame them but I really needed the account. Its my fault for not paying my bill on time. I owed themĀ some money and after I bought my laptop so I could work from home, my credit card got maxed out.
This was sometime last year long before I joined Wealthy Affiliate. Now that I am actually making money and I could afford to pay off my bill, I go into my account and its say’s that my account is cancelled and I cant activate it. Another hurdle. I emailed them so I’m going to see if they let me back in.
Luckily I just set up a Yahoo Search Marketing account with the free $50 voucher offered by Wealthy Affiliate, so I have $50 to play with over at Yahoo.
Hopefully, I’ll Google will give me another chance. I’m crossing my fingers. I’ve learned a lot at Wealthy Affiliate about Google Adwords so I wouldn’t make the same newbie mistakes again. Come on Google… do I have to beg you?

Exactly the same thing here; was hit heavily by click fraud and didn’t pay the bill; they refunded me around 2% of what I lost due to click fraud. Then I had problems with my card. Now that I have some money I was wanting to restart advertising with AdSense. Spoke to a support person and they said I should just update my billing info and wait two days.
As a side note, Google seem to have written off the amount I owed them, and the account’s showing a -14$ balance (possibly click-fraud refunds). Also, they seem to be holding back money in my AdWords account - I haven’t got my last cheque, though it’s over the minimum required to send off a cheque.
I’m not from the US; unlike you, I can’t use Yahoo Ads.
Pranab, are you sure you cant use Yahoo Ads because I’m not from the US either.
Seems they let you back in because I spoke to someone via chat and they asked me to sign a credit card authorisation form which is probably why they would hold back money in your Adwords account - to ensure they have enough funds to cover future payments. So I’m gonna have my account back in a couple of days I guess.
